Project Hannah, which takes its name from the biblical woman, Hannah (1 Sam. 1:1-28), was founded in 1997 by Awareness Advocate Marli Spieker. Marli and her husband, Edmund, were Trans World Radio missionaries in Asia when God impressed upon her the many women who are trapped in spiritual, cultural, and physical bondage.

Blind Faith

One August morning, a Paraguayan man called in response to Kuna Paraguai (the Guarani version of Women of Hope). He mentioned that he always listened on Sunday mornings to the program via Radio Obedira-Asuncion. This man also wanted to know how he could obtain the programs. Two of them really touched him, and he wanted to listen again.

After locating the programs and promising to make copies, the Project Hannah team member told him that he could come to the office to get them. After a moment of silence, the man said that it would be inconvenient: he's nearly blind and he must depend on others to take him places. With this in mind, PH decided to visit this dear listener and personally give him the tapes.

During that visit, the thankful man said, "I cannot read the Bible any longer, but I can listen to the programs. I like this program very much; it helps and edifies me. I also record it for my children and send it to them."

Prayer Requests from Project Hannah in Paraguay

* We thank the Lord for the correspondence we receive from our listeners, both women and men.

* We ask God to guide the PH team as they meet with a women's ministry group in Paraguay.
