Message from Marli
November 7, 2008
Dear friend,
This is my last letter to you for the 10th Anniversary year of Project Hannah. Thank you so much for your prayers; God heard them all. We can rejoice that thousands of new names are written in the Book of Life because of your faithfulness in intercession and in giving to Project Hannah’s worldwide ministry.
When you read this letter I will be returning from India–the land written about in the book of Esther. I’ve been impressed by the gracious and quiet strength of Indian Christian women standing in the gap for their sisters. They emulate Queen Esther’s determination to save her people from certain death. Their society is certainly facing the death of women’s dignity, plagued by a system of discrimination, abuse, and sexual slavery. Baby girls are aborted on demand, pre-teens are losing their innocence at the hands of unscrupulous male relatives, women are selling their bodies in order to feed their children, and poverty, ignorance and violence abound. To top it all off, many are facing terrible religious persecution.
Praise God that even though suffering is universal, HOPE is as well. God is using Project Hannah’s Indian teams to bind the wounded souls of India. Thank the Lord for TWR India’s CEO, Mrs. Vinita Shaw, and her team. They are true “Esthers”–women of God and hope. Project Hannah’s radio programs are heard loud and clear in seven Indian languages. Prayer groups are springing up all over the country. These ladies lead listeners’ rallies, women’s conferences, prayer concerts, health seminars and distribute radios while seeking biblical justice through earnest prayer to the King of Kings!
Let’s renew our resolve to stand in the gap for India. Our brothers and sisters are hiding in forests, their houses are being burned to the ground, their churches are being destroyed and their families are being killed. Let’s lift them up before God and intercede so that their faith will not falter. Let’s pray that evil would cease and that Christians in India would see the deliverance of the Lord.
Please pray for Project Hannah’s ministry as we face huge financial pressure to end 2008 strongly during economically challenging times, and also that we may fulfill our financial commitments associated with the prayer movement in 105 countries, and God’s message of hope in 47 languages over the radio.
Praying with you for many more “Esthers” to rise up and shine all over India,
Marli Spieker
